Was haltet ihr von einem Upgrade für das Forum?
Ich bin ganz klar für das vBulletin!
Es wöre einfach klasse und eine gute Investition!

Das mit dem Äußeren ist doch Geschmackssache, mir fällt unser Forum vom Aussehen her um Längen besser.

Das mit den Funktionen würde mich allerdings interessieren. Kannst Du mal genau sagen, was Du da meinst? Viele der Funktionen gibt es sicher auch für unser Forum - wir haben sie nur nich installiert.

In den neueren Versionen von vB3.5 sind u.a. viele interaktive Features mittels AJAX enthalten wie z.B.

• Direktes Antworten auf Themen in der Themenansicht (Quick Reply OHNE das die Seite neu geladen wird)
• Direktes Ändern von Beiträgen in der Themenansicht (auch hier OHNE die Seite neu zu laden)
  
• Direktes Ändern von Thementiteln in der Forumsansicht
  
  

Weitere Sachen wären beispielsweise eine Vorschau beim Ändern der Signatur, Attachments, ein besserer WYSIWYG-Editor, das Geburtsdatum im Profil -> Geburtstagsanzeige auf der Forenindexseite, Buddy & Ignore-Listen oder die Einbindung von Skype.




Warum man aber gerade JETZT von phpBB auf vB wechseln sollte wo phpBB3 mit seinen wirklich tollen neuen Features (u.a. ein paar der oben genannten und welche, die komplett neu sind und die bisher noch keine andere Software hat) so kurz vor der Tür steht ist mir ein Rätzel.

Und die Größe des Forum ist sowieso kein Argument, da daß mit ABSTAND größte Forum im Internet mit 667 Millioen Beiträgen, fast 4 Millionen Usern und bis zu 49000 gleichzeitig online ein phpBB ist: Gaia Online

[FINAL] AJAX MOD

Hier mal die Featurelist:

• Registration/Profile
  • Username validation (taken, forbidden)
  • E-mail validation (taken, forbidden, banned)
  • Password check: check if password and confirmed password are the same
• Posting topics/posts
  • Username validation (guests only)
  • Quicksearch feature (when leaving the title field the system searches for posts with the keywords in your title; New topic only)
  • Instant preview: Clicking on the preview button will show the preview message instantly.
• Posting PMs
  • Username search/validation: when typing a username and pausing for a little bit, the username is checked. If a user with that name was found the system does nothing. If there is no user with such name, the system searches all users whos names start with the name you entered, and displays the results in a list. If no user was found, an error message will be shown.
  • Subject validation: if you don't enter a subject for the message, you will see a reminder message.
  • Instant preview: Clicking on the preview button will show the preview message instantly.
• Forum index
  • Mark forums read: you can mark single forums as read by clicking the icon of the forum. You must be logged in to use this feature. If you are not logged in, the page will reload with the topic marked as read.
• Viewing forums
  • Edit topic titles from viewforum. Simply doubleclick the cell with the topic title to edit it. To save the new title, hit the return key or click the "Save changes" button. To cancel editing, hit the escape key or click the "Cancel" button. This also works when displaying search results by topics. You can edit all subjects you're authorized for; normal users may edit their own topics, moderators all topics.
  • Mark topics read: you can mark single topics as read by clicking the icon of the topic. You must be logged in to use this feature. If you are not logged in, the page will reload with the topic marked as read.
• Moderator control panel
  • Edit topic titles like on viewforum. Please note that the escape and return key have no function in this file. Hitting Return will simply submit the ModCP form, there is no way to work around this.

You can make the text box bigger and smaller by clicking the "+" and "-" buttons. These features also work when displaying search results by posts, but note that you can only edit the post title, and not the topic title.   • View poll results instantly: if you have not yet voted in a poll you can view the results of the poll without refreshing the page. Just click the "View results" link, AJAX will do the rest for you.
  • Vote in polls instantly: if you have not yet voted in a poll you can vote directly without having to refresh the page. Just click the "Vote" button like you usually would.
  • Watch/Unwatch topics: If you click the watch topic link, the site will not refresh, but the link will change and you'll be watching the topic.
  • Lock topic instantly (moderators only): If you click the "lock topic" link at the bottom of a topic, the topic will be locked without refreshing the page.
• Username search:
  • Instant search: works the same way as when posting a PM. Just type and pause for an instant, you'll see the results. When you choose a username from the dropdown box, it will automatically be sent back to the calling page.
• Group control panel (adding group members):
  • Added automatic username search as mentioned above
• Admin control panel:
  • Added automatic username search as mentioned above in the following locations:
    • Banning users
    • Editing group settings (group moderator)
    • Editing user permissions (user select form)
    • Editing user preferences (user select form)

Ich glaube da sind einige Sachen bei, die nicht nur den Mods gefallen würden.

phpBB 3.0 Beta1 released



und das nach fast 3 Jahren endlosem Warten


Bei der offiziellen 3.0.0 Version wird dann auch ein neues Design von subBlue enthalten sein, der schon das aktuelle Standarddesign von phpBB2 entwickelt hat und das sich nach eigener Aussage doch deutlich von dem noch aktuellen Style unterscheiden soll.
Angeblich stecken da 2 Jahre Arbeit drin. Wie es es aber konkret aussieht weiß wie immer nur ein kleiner und verschorener Haufen von Entwicklern und Programmierern.
Bei der aktuellen Beta ist nur ein leicht verändertes phpBB2 Design enthalten.

Wenn du ihnen die Lizenz bezahlst, denken sie sicherlich mal drüber nach. Bis dahin ist man in einem der besseren kostenlosen Boards nicht unbedingt falsch aufgehoben.

Finde ich auch! Ich kenn mich im Allgemeinen ja nicht so wirklich mit den ganzen technischen Dingen aus, aber zur Zeit gefällt mir das Board wirklich gut und wenn es bald ein Upgrade gibt mit neuen Funktionen, dann ist das ja auch nichts schlechtes!

Das Recht jemanden auf einen Regelverstoß hinzuweisen, solange es nichts sinnloses ist, ist unabhängig vom "Rang" des Posters.
Wenn es etwas schwerwiegenderes ist, kannst du dich auch an die Mods oder Admins wenden.

Genauso sieht es aus. Bei schlimmeren Sachen bitte immer einen Mod bescheid geben. Und sonst gilt: Der Ton ist entscheidend

Ich hätte mal da eine Frage. Nämlich was das Gast oder Benutzer sein angeht. Also beim der Foren Übersicht steht ja ganz unten wer online ist. Oder auch bei den einzelnen Foren ganz oben: Benutzer dieses Forums. Nunja ich stehe jeweils nicht dort, obwohl ich regitriert bin. Ich habe mich schon eimal eingeloogt und bei einem anderen Computer geschaut, ob ich online bin. Und es stand nichts. Bin ich nun ein Gast, oder ein Benutzer? Es tut mir leid wenn diese Frage schon mal gestellt wurde, aber ich hab nirgends ein Thread gefunden, der meine Frage beatwortet. Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir diese Frage beantworten.

Du hast in Deinem Profil angegeben, dass Du auf der Online-Liste unsichtbar sein möchtest (Online-Status verstecken). D.h. Du bist für normale User unsichtbar und offenbar auch für Dich selbst. Admins können Dich sehen, d.h. für mich stehst Du auf der Online-Liste.
