American Pie star Chris Klein and Dawson's Creek beauty Katie Holmes are reportedly reconsidering their engagement. The glamorous couple had a vicious fight last Friday in Los Angeles restaurant Maggiano's, which ended in Klein telling a tearful Holmes he wanted to leave her. A shocked witness tells website Pagesix.Com, "They came in holding hands, sat alone, and during the dinner Klein was heard delivering classic break-up lines like 'I need space, ' and 'it's not you, it's me'." But Holmes' representative insists they were arguing over their new house, not splitting up.

Former "Dawson's Creek" regular Kerr Smith reports plans for a Montgomery Clift biopic that he's had in development for years are moving toward fruition.
"We've got HBO possibly interested," said Smith, adding that the problem with the Clift project is that "a lot of people of my generation don't know who he was. But Clift was James Dean's and Marlon Brando's idol" – with a turbulent life story that included pill and alcohol dependency. Publicists tried to hype his friendships with various women as romantic involvements due to producer and studio apprehensions over his being thought of as gay. During the filming of the 1957 "Raintree County," he got into a car crash after leaving a party thrown by Elizabeth Taylor. She rushed out and saved his life, but his face had to be surgically rebuilt, and his matinee idol looks were destroyed. He died of coronary artery disease at 46 in 1966.
Smith, who has a recurring role on "Charmed" this season, says the upcoming biopic won't deal with Clift's reported homosexuality.
"We want to focus on how he grew up in the New York theater circuit, then came to L.A., how he changed Hollywood and his relationship with Liz Taylor. We don't want to focus so much on the sexuality thing because I think that's just a side story. He never said what he was, so I would never say what he was, either. We'll just keep it pretty much in the air."

'Personally, I think charming is cheesy.'
On being a bad, bad boy:
"A lot of people can't get over the idea of me being the nice guy, but it's always more fun to play the bad guy. I've played a few. I'd say my favorite was Carter in [the movie] Final Destination. He wasn't really a bad guy, but he was definitely not a nice person."
On being charmed and dangerous:
"Every [season], there's what [the creators] call a 'big bad' on the show. You know, the ultra-super demon of the year. I'm supposedly there to warn the girls, but I'm not sure if I'm there to help or hurt them. I could actually turn out to be the 'big bad.'"
On life imitating art:
"I relate to the mysterious part of this guy. I'm the type who doesn't open himself up until he's had a chance to get to know someone. I've also made this guy charming, but I would never call myself charming. Personally, I think charming is cheesy."
On the perks of having a day job:
"I prefer the steady paycheck over never knowing what's coming next. I mean, I love making movies, but, obviously, I enjoy TV too, especially for Spelling. He knows what he is doing."
On life's little ironies:
"I'm somewhat familiar with this show. The same day I tested for the role of Jack on Dawson's Creek I tested for the role of Andy on Charmed."
On being the new kid on the set:
"Some sets you walk onto and you feel like an outsider. Some sets you walk onto and you feel like you've been there for years and that was the case with [Charmed]. Everybody is so nice and warm. They accepted me into the cast really quickly which makes things a lot more fun."
On life, post-Jack McPhee:
"Eventually people will forget about Jack. I'm lucky in that way because he was a B storyline. It's definitely been an adjustment."
