Was soll man nur dazu sagen?! Verlobung - Katie & Tom! Das ging ja jetzt wohl doch ein bisschen zu schnell. Mir kommt es schon so vor - als dürften Stars nur mehr zusammen sein - wenn sie entweder verlobt oder verheiratet sind - merken sie dann, dass sie doch nicht zusammen passen (Verliebtheitsphase vorbei) - lassen sie sich einfach wieder scheiden bzw. lösen die Verlobung auf. Alles kein Problem in Hollywood.

@Fiona: Ich denke schon, dass der Zeitraum eine Rolle spielt. Es ist ein Unterschied, ob man sich einige Tage, Wochen, Monate oder schon Jahre kennt. Ist es nicht so wie bei einer Serie - nach 3 Folgen kann man auch nicht behaupten, ob einem die Serie gefällt oder nicht.

Ich finde, dass Tom Cruise ein bisschen seinen Realitätssinn verloren hat.Ich bin auch der Meinung, dass 2 Monate Bekanntschaft etwas kurz für eine lebenslange Bindung ist. Mit Penelope Cruz war er 2 Jahre zusammen und hat nicht ans Heiraten gedacht... Vielleicht steckt er ziemlich in der MidlifeCrisis, er verhält sich auf jeden Fall wie ein Teenager oder er hat sich einfach von seiner ehemaligen Filmpartnerin Renee Zellweger inspirieren lassen, die hat ja auch nach ein paar Monaten geheiratet. Ich finde es schade, dass Katie bei dem Affenzirkus mitmacht, ich fand ihre frühere Bodenständigkeit immer sehr sympathisch. Ach ja, auch wenn sich die beiden vielleicht wirklich lieben, ist ja komisch, dass der Heiratsantrag genau bei den Premieren von "Batman" und "War of the worlds" kommt.

Also mich wunderts echt, wie Katie sich gewandelt hat. Nie hat sie wirklich viel über ihr Privatleben verloren, hielt alles was Chris betraf so gut wie mögilch geheim. Auf den meisten Feier sah man sie alleine, bzw. auf Fotos von Premieren. Nun, kurze Zeit nach der Trennung von Chris ist sie plötzlich glücklich mit Tom zusammen, zeigt sich vollkommen offen der Presse mit ihm, redet überall über ihr Privatleben, will die Religion wechseln (wenn das wirklich stimmen sollte) und jetzt auch noch ne Heirat, nachdem sie immer gesagt hatte sie sei mit chris glück und selbst da die Verlobung ewig gedauert hat? Komisch, dass das alles jetzt so passiert, wo sie auch wieder nen neuen Film promoten muss. In Dawson's Creek hab ich sie als Joey so gemocht, aber im wahren Leben wird sie mir immer unsympathischer.

Die zwei sind ja nur noch am küssen, das geht ehrlich gesagt schon etwas zu weit! auf einmal kam von ihr so ein sinneswandel, zuerst das privatleben so geheim wie möglich halten und jetzt ist es nur noch in der öffentlichkeit!
Zuerst dachte ich mir, ja sie sind ja ein nettes paar, aber jetzt, was die so aufführen, kann das ja wohl nur noch show sein!

Tom Cruise has reportedly given fiancée Katie Holmes a new mobile phone fitted with a tracking device so he constantly knows where she is. The Hollywood heavyweight gave the former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ beauty the handset complete with a GPS - Global Positioning System - satellite tracking aid. Cruise, 42, wanted Katie to have the device to “keep her safe at all times”.

The couple got engaged on Friday after the heartthrob actor proposed to the screen beauty at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Cruise, who has been dating the brunette beauty for just two months, admitted he was overjoyed with the engagement at a press conference the same day to promote new movie ‘War of the Worlds’ in the French capital, He revealed: “Yes, I proposed to her.

It was early this morning at the Eiffel Tower, so I haven’t slept at all. “It is a magnificent day for me. I’m engaged to a magnificent woman.” Asked why he chose the famous Paris landmark, he said: “I’ve never been to the Eiffel Tower. It’s Paris, it’s a beautiful city, it’s very romantic.”

Meanwhile, Sharon Osbourne has pledged to help Cruise as he threatens legal action against the film crew pranksters who squirted him with water at London’s ‘War of the Worlds’ premiere. He was left fuming on Sunday night when the ‘reporter’ he was talking to - from a British comedy show - sprayed Cruise’s face with water from a fake microphone.

Three weeks ago, loud-mouthed Sharon, who is married to rocker Ozzy Osbourne, was attacked by the camera crew in a similar incident and was doused with water from a pretend camera. But, while Cruise lost his cool, Sharon, 52, decided to get even. She dived into a nearby restaurant, filled a champagne bucket with ice-cold water and threw it over the cameraman.

A spokesman for the actor said: “Tom wants to take action but we don’t know what sort yet.” Britain’s Channel 4 has apologised for the prank in a statement which read: “The stunt was intended to be light-hearted.” The four-man team were arrested on suspicion of assault.

Katie Holmes' Missing Days

The newly engaged Katie Holmes still has some explaining to do to her friends and family.
There were 16 days in April during which no one seems to know where she was.

Holmes made a public appearance on April 4 at the premiere of "Steel Magnolias" on Broadway.
She came with her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, and a couple of other friends. They were there to support Rebecca Gayheart, who was making her Broadway debut.

I know this because I spoke to Holmes at length during the play's intermission. She said she had just moved into her New York apartment and was looking forward to seeing the city.
I also know that on April 4, she had not yet made the acquaintance of Tom Cruise. She briefly dated Josh Hartnett after breaking up with actor Chris Klein.

Hartnett, Klein, Cruise: Which of these three is not like the others?
Klein and Hartnett are young and tall. Cruise is middle-aged and height-challenged.
On the other hand, he's the biggest movie star in the world. They are not.

Holmes was busy during that first week in April. On April 7, she was photographed at the Fragrance Foundation's FiFi event.
Four days later, Holmes was still in New York and was photographed at VH1's "Save the Music" concert. She still had not met Cruise.

Sometime that week, her friends say, she flew to Los Angeles for a meeting with Cruise about a role in "Mission: Impossible 3." The meeting took place after April 11.
The next time anyone heard from Holmes was on April 27, when she appeared in public as Cruise's girlfriend and love of his life.

Where was she during those 16 days?

Somewhere during that time, she decided to fire both her manager and agent, each of whom she had been with for years and who were devoted to her.

The manager, John Carrabino, also handles Renée Zellweger and is beloved by his clients.


Holmes also acquired a new best friend, Jessica Feshbach, the daughter of Joe Feshbach, a controversial Palo Alto, Calif., bond trader.
The Feshbach family, according to published documents, has donated millions to the Church of Scientology. Jessica's aunt even runs a Scientology center in Florida.

According to Richard Behar's now famous 1991 story in Time magazine about Scientology, the Feshbachs were the subject of congressional hearings in 1989.
Behar wrote: "The heads of several companies claimed that Feshbach operatives have spread false information to government agencies and posed in various guises — such as a Securities and Exchange Commission official — in an effort to discredit the companies and drive the stocks down.

"Michael Russell, who ran a chain of business journals, testified that a Feshbach employee called his bankers and interfered with his loans. Sometimes the Feshbachs send private detectives to dig up dirt on firms, which is then shared with business reporters, brokers and fund managers."

The risk-taking Feshbachs, known the world over for making their fortune "shorting" stocks, and the level-headed, conservative Holmeses would be a difficult mix at a dinner table.

Katie's father, Martin Holmes, is the senior partner in a large and respected Toledo, Ohio, law firm. His son, Martin Jr., has recently joined the firm. He's a Harvard graduate. Katie's mom, Kathy, is frequently cited in Toledo for her charity work.

There is some fear among Holmes' close circle that her instant romance with Cruise is not as organic as portrayed.
For one thing, Holmes was raised a strict Catholic. Also, gone from the picture are two close Holmes friends who used to be with her when she did publicity for a film.

One of these is Meghann Birie, a childhood friend who has suddenly disappeared from Holmes' world. Another, a local TV producer here in New York, was too afraid to discuss the situation with me.

Curiously, since the Cruise-Holmes situation popped up, we have heard over and over again that Cruise was the young actress' idol when she was growing up.

That's certainly interesting because all of the publicity that used to run on Holmes — still found all over the Internet — lists another Tom as her favorite actor.

That would be Tom Hanks.

Ich würde Sie zwar garantiert nicht als It Girl bezeichnen, aber das ist Ansichtssachen. Also, wer noch hinter Ihr steht, trotz dem Ganzen Tamtam...bitte..ps. sie liegt gerade mit 50% vorne.

Übrigens, der ganzen Presse kann man doch eh nur die Hälfte oder 1/10tel glaube, das einzige Ziel was die haben ist, das die Leute Ihre Zeitung etc kaufen und damit die Auflage toppen. Ich würde mal über Sachen wie sie ist eine Zicke und auch das ganze Tamtam um Tomkat nicht ganz so Ernst nehmen wie einige hier.

Ich finde zwar auch das dieses ganze Gebussel etc auf den Pressterminen zu viel ist und auf irgendeine Art und Weise auch unprofessionel, aber das ist denen Ihre Sache.
